Waking Up Your EEE Pad Transformer Without Pressing The Power Button

June 14, 2011 2 comments

This is a small tip for those who owns the Asus EEE Pad Transformer and bought it together with the keyboard dock – there is a simple way to wake up your EEE Pad Transformer from sleep mode (when the screen is turned off from a display timeout) without pressing the power button. To do this, you can just disable the option “mobiledock battery saving mode” in the settings -> display section and that’s it. Now when the screen timeout goes into effect, you can press more or less any key (try spacebar for instance) to wake the transformer up from sleep mode. Do take note that this will however drain the battery more quickly but it is useful if you’re the type of person who goes back and forth your Android Netbook Hybrid often (like myself). Alternatively, you could always get “Screen On Toggler” from the Android Market to disable the screen timeout temporarily and then reenable the timeout when you’re done working. Hope this tip helps 🙂

Note: This will not work while your transformer is charging via the keyboard. It works only when your transformer is connected to the keyboard dock AND not charging (i.e: running purely on battery)

Screen On Toggler v1.4 Ready For Prime Time

June 6, 2011 5 comments

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I’ve been pretty busy with my day job but i’ve got myself a new toy – the Asus EEE Pad Transformer Wifi Model. With this new toy, i’ve been able to tinker around with the new honeycomb SDK and I did a quick update on the screen on toggler app to push it up to v1.4, the app will display a lot better in honeycomb now rather than the previous versions. There’s also some bug fixes for the app which should take care of the issue that many (including myself) have been facing with -> the screen timeout doesnt work…sometimes…it should be fixed for good now. If it doesn’t, just drop me a mail and i’ll be sure to check it again. Anyway, you can grab it at the Android Market or from SlideMe. I will be updating the rest of the apps to make them honeycomb compatible in the next week or so. Stay tuned.

Lack of updates

April 24, 2011 1 comment

Hi all, sorry for the lack of updates lately, I recently switched jobs and currently am trying to juggle between the new job and developing Android Apps. I may be putting the new version of Show IP Widget on hold first for a while longer and work on newer apps as I have hit a small roadblock trying to put up big improvements for the widget (such as configurable sizes, colors, etc). Rest assured, this won’t be the last time you hear from me. Stay tuned!
